Our approach

Our training is designed for anyone who would like to learn to teach yoga with both structure and creativity. We teach a contemporary form of yoga which, while honoring the Indian philosophical heritage, is also a concrete tool adapted to our modern world and lifestyle. We learn to be both soft and precise in the way we relate with our body, we learn to be attentive to our breath, kind with others, and most of all authentic and true in everything we do.

We learn about alignment and anatomy, the main philosophical schools of yoga, pedagogy and the art of teaching. The training is simple in its design and geared towards providing you with concrete tools to start teaching and transmitting your experience of yoga. We do a variety of teaching exercises and we deepen our personal practice in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Documents, the Yoga Teacher Handbook, home study material are handed out.

The big plus for this training is the collective and kind learning environment where everyone can explore yoga with authenticity and honesty and where laughter has a big place.

You will receive a Yoga Teacher Certificate stating that you have accomplished at least 200 hours of training. In France there is no official governmental recognition of yoga, since it is not considered as a sport and is not regulated by the Ministère des Sports. With your Corps Pilates Yoga Teacher Certificate you will be able to teach yoga in France and elsewhere, except in places that asked for a brevet d'educateur sportif.

  • You will need to show that you have done at least 120 hours of personal practice and that you have taught 10 hours during the duration of the training.
  • You will need to get a minimum score on your written evaluation.
  • To ensure high strandards of teaching, you will need to renew your certification every three years by providing us with a video of a class that demonstrates your teaching skills and your continuing education.

Practical information

The training is held over 7 weekends from September to May and may be completed by 2 extra weekends as an assistant the following year. It is organized by Corps Pilates.

The training is taught in French. English translation might be available upon request for an extra fee. Please contact us for more details.

86 contact hours + 120 hours of guided practice and study + 10 teaching hours + 28 hours as an assistant (contact hours) = 244 hours

Centre QEE, 19 avenue des Belges, Aix-en-Provence. How to get there (Google map).

Number of participants

Between 12 and 18 participants to ensure maximum quality and individualized help.

Yoga style

Our general approach is that of Vinyasa Yoga or Flow/Dynamic Yoga, but everything we study together can be applied to other types of hatha yoga. The training is not an advanced practice workshop, we will of course practice together but the main focus on acquiring concrete teaching tools.

Ideally, you have been practicing yoga for at least two years, you know the basic poses well, you are comfortable with them or can adapt them to your physical limitations and you might have previous yoga teaching experience.

If you do not have the above prerequisites, the training may still be accessible but please be aware that it will require a strong commitment on your part as you will have to study and practice a lot between modules.

Total price

The price includes the 7 training weekends, the Yoga Teacher Handbook (available in French only) and a great number of extra study material that are handed out throughout the training.
